Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Hosts Thirteenth Annual Golf Tournament

Sumter, SC (10/16/2023) — More than 120 golfers participated in the 13th annual Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Golf Tournament held Friday, October 6 at Beech Creek Golf Course.

The event was a remarkable day of golf, camaraderie and philanthropy, with golfers from all over the state coming together to support the CCTC Foundation. We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the generosity of our participants, sponsors and volunteers, we were able to raise more than $33,000 for projects that support CCTC including student scholarships and professional development for faculty and staff. Over the past 13 years, the CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament has raised approximately $370,000 as a result of the annual golf outing.

"Each year, we are amazed at the incredible generosity and support displayed at our golf tournament," said CCTC Vice President for Institutional Advancement Misty Hatfield. "We are so appreciative of the hard work of our dedicated staff, board members and volunteers, and for the ongoing loyalty of our local business sponsors and community members."

Proceeds from the 2022 golf tournament made it possible for 20 CCTC students to receive a $700 scholarship each for a total of $14,000.

The format for the tournament was a four-person captain's choice with breakfast and lunch provided. Awards included a Hole-In-One Grand Prize, Longest Drive Challenge and Closest to the Pin competition, in addition to cash prizes and trophies for the winning teams.

Looking ahead, the CCTC Foundation is committed to continuing our mission and making a lasting impact in the communities we serve. The success of this fundraiser not only brings us closer to our goals but also underscores the incredible power of collaboration and goodwill.
