The Zeta Xi Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity at Coastal Carolina University was recognized at the Fraternity's 2018 National Convention on July 28, 2018.

Congratulations USC Sumter Gold Medallion Scholars! To qualify for inclusion, the student must have completed at least 30 hours at a University of South Carolina Campus with a cumulative GPA average of at least 3.0, as well as have achieved a 3.95 or higher GPA for each of the Fall and Spring semesters in the current academic year while being registered each semester for 12 or more hours on the Sumter campus, of which at least six hours must be USC Sumter courses.

This year, 48 students were inducted into Coastal Carolina University's chapter of Phi Sigma Pi, a social service fraternity. Phi Sigma Pi is a gender-inclusive fraternity that focuses on scholarship, leadership and fellowship. The organization was founded in 1916 and has more than 125 chapters in the United States.

Approximately 2.419 students have made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

Approximately 1,920 students have made the Spring Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

USC Sumter held the annual Commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Nettes Auditorium. More than 100 students received Associate Degrees.
