Central Carolina Technical College names Dr. Kevin Pollock as 9th President
11/19/2020 (11/19/2020) — Sumter, SC - After a nationwide search, the Central Carolina Technical College Area Commission has chosen Dr. Kevin Pollock as the next leader of Central Carolina Technical College effective January 4, 2021.
"It is my honor to accept the position of president at Central Carolina Technical College," Pollock said. "I look forward to working with the area commission, faculty and staff, to move the college forward and to greater heights in the coming years." Pollock replaces Interim President Terry Booth who will return to her position as vice president for business affairs.
Pollock, who is currently a Senior Consultant at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRO), was previously president at Montgomery County Community College, located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
With more than 38 years of experience in education, Pollock has held high-level positions at various community and four-year colleges. He is an expert on student success models, a frequent speaker at conferences and colleges across the nation and is the author of more than 20 book chapters and articles.
While he was president at Montgomery County Community College, Pollock supervised the implementation of a new core curriculum, including math reform and the creation of pathways for all college programs. During his tenure, the college created a new vision, mission and strategic plan, and updated its brand and marketing strategies.
Pollock holds a doctorate in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Education and Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University.
