Central Carolina Technical College Instructor Named One of HVACR's Top 25 Most Influential Educators
Sumter, SC (01/14/2026) — Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) is proud to announce that HVAC instructor Bobby Tyner has been selected as one of the 2026 Top 25 Most Influential Instructors/Trainers by HVAC Excellence and TruTech Tools. Tyner joins an elite group of educators recognized nationwide for shaping the future of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
The annual recognition highlights instructors whose mentorship, innovation and dedication strengthen the HVAC workforce. This year's nomination process drew thousands of submissions from across the country, underscoring the impact these instructors have on students, apprentices, technicians and training programs nationwide.
Tyner began teaching at CCTC in 2011 after working in textile management and running his own business. A graduate of CCTC's HVAC program, he earned an Associate in Applied Science degree summa cum laude before transitioning into instruction full time. Over the years, he has played a key role in expanding hands-on learning, modernizing training labs and preparing students for in-demand technical careers.
He holds multiple industry certifications, including Certified Air Conditioning Educator, Certified Technical Educator, Certified Electrical Educator, Certified Commercial Refrigeration Educator and Certified Heat Pump Educator. Tyner's expertise and commitment to student success have made him a respected mentor within the college and the HVAC community.
"Bobby's influence reaches far beyond the classroom. He prepares students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed and he does it with integrity, expertise and a genuine commitment to their growth. His leadership strengthens our program and our workforce and we are proud to see his dedication recognized on a national level," said Chris Watkins, academic program manager for CCTC's HVAC program.

As part of this national recognition, Tyner's name will appear on the commemorative 2026 National HVACR Education Conference t-shirt, which will be distributed at the conference in Las Vegas March 22-25, 2026.
