Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Hosts Eleventh Annual Golf Tournament
Sumter, SC (09/09/2021) — Golfers in South Carolina are invited to play an enjoyable round of golf at one of the region's spectacular golf courses while also helping to raise funds for local college students.
The 11th Annual Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Golf Tournament Fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Beech Creek Golf Course in Sumter. The format for the tournament is a four person captain's choice with registration at 9:30 a.m. and a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee for players is $100 and includes breakfast, lunch, beverages, 18 holes of golf, cart, player gift and awards. Awards include a Hole-In-One Grand Prize, Longest Drive Challenge and Closest to the Pin competition, in addition to cash prizes and trophies for the winning teams. Mulligans will be available for purchase at registration for $10.
Most importantly, golfers who participate in the CCTC Foundation tournament are automatically supporting local higher education and help contribute to the skilled workforce in our area including registered nurses, pharmacy technicians, welders, HVAC technicians, mechatronics specialists, emergency medical technicians and more.
More than 130 golfers participated in the 2020 Tournament held October 2 at Beech Creek Golf Course. The generous support of more than 60 sponsors helped raise money for projects that support CCTC including student scholarships, professional development for faculty and staff and funding for instructional equipment and facilities. Over the past ten years, the CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament has raised more than $300,000 and provided scholarships for nearly 200 students.
"This is a great event for the college, the foundation and our students," CCTC Vice President for Institutional Advancement Misty Hatfield said. "COVID-19 has had a heavy impact on just about everyone and our students are no exception. We see the needs that exist and the passion students have to attend college and provide a better future for themselves and our communities."
Golfers can register for the event by going online to app.eventcaddy.com/events/cctc-foundation-golf-tournament or by calling (803) 774-6707 or email development@cctech.edu. A few team slots remain as well as tournament sponsorship opportunities.
The CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament is made possible through the gracious donations of our many sponsors, volunteers from the college, the community and the Foundation Board of Trustees.
