Booth Will Serve as Interim CCTC President

Sumter, SC (07/15/2020) — Central Carolina Technical College announced today that Terry Booth will serve as the interim president as appointed by the CCTC Area Commission.

Booth replaces Dr. Michael Mikota who announced his resignation in May.

Booth is a familiar face throughout the college having worked at CCTC for the past 30 years as well as having served as the interim president prior to Dr. Mikota's hiring in 2017. She is the current vice president for business affairs at Central Carolina and has been in this role since 1999. Booth earlier served as accounting director at CCTC from 1990 to 1999.

Booth is responsible for the college's human resources, information systems, capital projects, physical plant, accounting and budgeting, purchasing, security, auxiliary and internal services.

She is a certified public accountant and a certified government finance officer. She is a graduate of the College Business Management Institute in Lexington Kentucky, the APPA Institute for Facilities Management and of Leadership Sumter. She holds a Master of Public Administration Degree from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of South Carolina. She has been a member of Government Finance Officers Association (GFOASC) since 1992. She has served as Treasurer and Finance Chair of Dalzell United Methodist Church for more than 21 years and previously as Treasurer of the Sumter Sunrise Rotary Club for five years.

The Central Carolina Technical College Area Commission has initiated a plan to search for a new president. That process typically takes six to nine months to complete.
