15th Annual CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament Raises Over $30,000 for Student Success

Sumter, SC (10/20/2025) — On Friday, October 3, golfers from across South Carolina gathered at Beech Creek Golf Course for the 15th annual Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) Foundation Golf Tournament. The day was filled with friendly competition, community spirit and a shared commitment to supporting CCTC students and programs.

This year's tournament raised more than $30,000, thanks to the incredible generosity of participants, sponsors and volunteers. Proceeds directly benefit student scholarships, faculty and staff professional development and special projects across the college. Over the past 15 years, the tournament has generated nearly $450,000 in support of CCTC's mission.

"Each year, this event brings together people who truly believe in the power of education," said Misty Hatfield, CCTC Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Foundation. "We are so grateful for our sponsors, players, volunteers and Foundation Board members who continue to make this tournament such a success. Their support helps us change lives through education."

In 2024, tournament proceeds provided scholarships to 20 CCTC students, each receiving $700 to support their studies.

This year's tournament featured a four-person captain's choice format, with breakfast, lunch, and a variety of on-course challenges. Special awards included the Hole-in-One Grand Prize, Longest Drive, Putting Contest and Closest to the Pin competitions, along with cash prizes and trophies for the top three teams.

The CCTC Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all corporate and individual sponsors who made this year's tournament possible.

As the Foundation continues to strengthen partnerships and expand opportunities, the tournament remains a cornerstone event for advancing CCTC's mission and enhancing educational access across Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties.
