Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Raises $32,000 at 11th Annual Golf Tournament

Sumter, SC (10/11/2021) — More than 130 golfers participated in the 11th annual Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Golf Tournament held Friday, October 1 at Beech Creek Golf Course.

The generous support of more than 60 sponsors helped raise $32,000 for projects that support CCTC including student scholarships, professional development for faculty and staff and funding for instructional equipment and facilities. Over the past ten years, the CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament has raised approximately $367,000.

"Each year, we are amazed at the incredible generosity and support displayed at our golf tournament," said CCTC Vice President for Institutional Advancement Misty Hatfield. "We are grateful for the hard work of our dedicated staff and Foundation board members and for the ongoing loyalty of our local business sponsors, partners and community members."

Proceeds from the 2020 golf tournament made it possible for 20 CCTC students to receive a $700 scholarship each for a total of $14,000.

The format for the tournament was a four person captain's choice with breakfast and lunch provided. Awards included a Hole-In-One Grand Prize, Longest Drive Challenge and Closest to the Pin competition, in addition to cash prizes and trophies for the winning teams.

The CCTC Foundation is immensely grateful to all who played, sponsored and volunteered to make this event a success.
